Alright all you cummins guys here is your chance to voice your opinion and tell me what you think. I am 18 and own a logging company and pull a trailor all the time over passes. I don't know everything (hard to admit) and need your opinions. Therre is a 97 cummins 12 valve around here that had the kdp problem, took out the injection pump and the owner says the crank case "is it a snowmobile engine in there??"... but the good is, newer built tranny, newer front end, 60lb valve springs, 60hp injectors, 62mm turbo,4 in exhaust and is very clean.... the bad kdp problem could have ruined the block? injection pump, 300k miles.... what would be a fair price to offer? i offered 2k and he turned it down.. is it worth more then that with the possible problems???? please let me know what you think!!

 

I'd bet when he said crank case he meant the gear case, it could be just the gear on the IP, and the case can be replaced or welded or people even fix them with JB weld
