The rod below the paperclip, it's threaded like something adjustable, and has two nuts that would be jam nuts. The rod is bent to hell, so I need to know what it's called to get a new one, and how to adjust it.

Nevermind the paperclip, it's replacing a missing cotter pin on the rod that hangs down from the AFC stuff...

I found there was a recall, and my VIN was listed. But it seems like it's the rod end that's changed from plastic to metal in the recall. I guess I'll call tomorrow, see if they did the fix on my truck yet, if not they do replace the rod in the recall...

 

I would imagine make it just tight enough that it removes almost all the play from the pedal.

 

Someone on an old thread said something about setting the idle with it, too. I'll order the threaded rod if the recall falls through, and figure it out.

Looking at this diagram, mine is backwards!

 

i wouldnt set the ide with it there is an idle screw behind the rod socket there, you adjust the idle from there i think its a 10 and 12mm iirc

 

Can anyone post pictures of their throttle rod, to verify if mine is the right way, or if the diagram is the right way?
