I would try the TPS (Throttle Position Sensor).

The throttle position sensor is exclusively related to the automatic transmission.

Indeed

I assume since the engine came out of a bus it would have an automatic tranny too.

I dont know about buses but on our trucks the tps only controls OD shift point. Nothing to do with the engine

It is NOT your throttle position sensor if your complaint is about the engine lacking power.

Well give the guy the correct diagnosis you jackheads. Don't say it is not something then have nothing for him to check out. Do I know much about VE powered cummins, nope, but guess what I gave him something to check in to.

Right off, he's talking about a Bluebird bus.

Him: 1, us: 0.

Does the bus have an overdrive such as our trucks? Dunno. With that, does it even have a TPS? Dunno.

Frankly, he's not given enough information to make a diagnosis.

- Is it in fact VE fueled? Is it in fact Peepump fueled and has slipped timing? Fuel return-valve (OFV?) stuck open?
- He says it's suddenly down on power. What are his gauges reading now, compared to before the loss of power? Fuel pressure? Boost? EGTs?
- Any changes in exhaust smoke quantities or color?
- The replacement parts he's apparently thrown at the issue, were they a result of efforts to fix the loss of power? Or were they power enhancements? Did they occur immediately before the loss of power? Has he in fact screwed something up in the process?
- With installing the above, did he inadvertently throw the transmissions TV cable adjustment out of whack?

. . . . insufficient data . . . .

. . . "Jackheads"?
