Default 98.5 3500 What mods first?

Hey guys, first time poster here. I have a 98.5 3500. 230000 miles. All stock except 4" straight pipe right off the turbo. 5 sp 4.10 posi rear. Recent SO Vp44 change. My question is which upgrades to do first. Or in what order would you do them. Hoping to end up with 400+ hp when done.

Lift pump and a fuel pressure gauge for sure. Otherwise, you'll keep changing that $1000+ VP44.

Thanks, i am definitely going to change the lift pump. It does have a new one on it but its a autozone special. So not to keen on it. I am aware the lift pump is a big deal on these trucks. So whats next after that ? Exhaust man. Air intake , edge , injectors ? What makes the best sense to go next?

X2 plus clutch and guages. Exhaust is a personal thing, just keep it above 3inch. Intake...BHAF, AFE pro dry...(the list goes on). Then power adders. 150 sticks, turbo, and a good box(edge or quad) should get ya to 400+.

Lift Pump w/Fuel Press Gauge

Gauges, Exh Temp (Pyro), Boost, and Fuel press if you don't already have it at this point.

4" Exh is enough for your HP goals

A good intake. Look up "BHAF", it is an economical upgrade to the intake system.

Chip/Programmer. I like Edge, the EJWA provides power, mileage, gauges, and lots of features. If you just want power, and plan to put more gauges in, Edge Comp.

Clutch shortly after, or before the Chip.

After that, injectors and a turbo.
