Default Control arm bushings!!!

its that time to change my control arm bushings i think notice my axle will roll a little when stopping going forward or backing up.. also feel and hear pops and clicks.. question if my top arm bushings r bad does that mean bottom should b changed as well or if my bottoms r bad should top b changed aswell?? also can i change them with my truck sitting on the ground or will it need to b lifted to take weight off axle? thanks everyone!!

You dont have to replace the tops when the bottoms are bad but if you think they could be getting bad as well I would take the extra 20 mins and do them too and be done. You dont need a lift to do them either (although it makes life nice) I do mine with a floor jack and a block of wood. Just jack up against the frame on the side you wanna start with to relieve the load, through something under the axle to support it, do the bushings, let it down, go to the otherside and repeat. Hope this helps.

my lower control arm on the driver side was bent and broke in half!!! i just raised the truck up on that side took nuts off i had to use a air hammer to get them to come out the i lubed em up and replaced the arm with a used one from a 3/4 gasser i was at a buddys junk yard.

I would just replace the whole control arm... Its gonna be a lot easier than pressing bushings in and out
