Okay so this weekend I am pulling out my motor to replace the rear main seal. I am wanting to paint the engine so what kind of paint should I use? Also while I have it out what other things should I replace? How much will this all cost?

 

you dont have to pull the motor to replace the rear main just drop the trans and tcase if 4x4. when i did mine the seal was a neoprene kind and ran 40.00 dollars at napa. as for the paint look for cummins engine enamal if your looking for a factory cummins look.

 

Trust me pulling the engine takes a lot less time.

 

If you can pull that engine out in less then 30 mins you need to work on the automotive or large truck field. Should be able to pull trans with or without 4x4 in less then one hour for any good tech.

 

Dude I'm 17 I'm still learning stuff. I want to paint my engine anyways
