By fart I'm guessing your referring to the turbo surging.

Does it do it just when your about to shift? Or constantly till it gets into the higher rpms?

Turbo fart is usually when you get on the throttle hard and let off quickly, all the boost blows back out the intake and literally makes a "farting" sound.

Now, why the heck it's doing it during acceleration I don't know... can you give us some more details about the truck? What mods are on the truck? Did it just start this randomly?

If the variable vanes are stuck open, it can cause a surge on acceleration.

Does it seem like its taking longer for the turbo to spool?

Default turbo fart

Not to hijack the post but i had similiar and wondering if its the same thing. Mine was real loud like a man hole lid hitting the pavement, coming from driver side engine compartment. it would happen under load going up hill trying to accelerate. if i let the rpms drop to idle area it seemed to go away. Took it in for a scan and it was a valve on the turbo that has leads going to it. looked like a 3-4 inch cone with lots of o rings. Mine is 04 also, stock.

Well that makes sense. Could be a bad VGT solenoid. I'd start with removing the turbo and cleaning it myself. Having it sit for 6 months probably rusted up the vanes pretty good. Just follow these instructions: DTS Articles - Turbocharger Reconditioning
