Default 99 2500 24v cummins for 2000$ salvage title...HELP.

So yeah i'm looking at a truck it's a 99 dodge 2500 with the 24v cummins in it. it has 167k on a freshly rebuilt transmission. the guy says the injection pump is bad on the truck. lift pump as well? would i be getting hurt buying this truck for 2000 dollars even? i can go pick it up in the morning the frame looks straight no visible bends cuts welds or anything. its a 4x4 too.
it is a salvage title and the truck is about a 5/10 on the exterior and 7/10 on the interior. does not run. he has receipts on the heavy duty automatic transmission rebuild.
NEED INPUT ASAP

If they are not taken care of, sure. 290,000kms on the first one for my truck, happened due at a EJWA install and no FASS.

If you get it for $2000, look to put that into it again to get it running. If you think the truck is worth $5000, I think you would be doing well buying it for $2000.

does it have a stock lift pump? if it does and you have a hot rod VP44 then i would suspect it would need an Air dog or Fass pump which is only $600

I have yet to find a shop that rebuilds them but the rebuild gonna cost as much as the new pump, the VP44 are as reliable as the P Pump you just get people that run em with a bad lift pump and that what kills them, Im past the 100K mark on mine. But you gonna put at least 2000K into repairs...

if you havent check and see what a used block it worth! i can garentee you that the 5.9 cummins block alone is worth more than two grand for the rebuilt tranny its wrth some money and so is all the parts off the truck. basicly yoiu will be able to easly re sell it for 2000 grand so just go for it! cummins is the number one diesel for a reason.. they last!
