Okay I just bought this truck and was looking on here about fuel pressure, so anyway today I got on it with the edge set on stage 3 and my fuel pressure at WOT showed to be between 2-3 psi this is really bad. Sorry about the long post just looking for my best options thanks for any help.

 

You need an aftermarket lift pump to keep you IP supplied with fuel. We have several vendors here that can help you out.

BTW- Go to the new member initiation section and introduce yourself.

 

It's just a sad fact that these stock lift pump systems are just barely enough to feed a stock HP motor, they don't cme anyplace close to being enough for a truck that has been Modded.

The options are endless as to what you can do to fix this and a mind numbing number of different pumps on the market to choose from. From there you can also branch out into the larger fuel lines, replacing Banjo Bolts, New in take pick up tubes and different fuel filter styles.

A lot of this decision comes down to your plans for the truck. How much HP and what will be it's primary use in life, along with budget constraints.

 

The truck is a DD but you know how things happen when you start modding. I guess being new I just want to know if the Fass system with the larger lines would be overkill. Thanks

 

What you want to look for is the flow rate. If you dont plan on making over 500hp then anything under 100gph will be plenty.

 

As long as you can keep the pressure from ever going above about the 18 psi mark, give or take a few pounds then there is no such thing as overkill. This VP needs all the fuel flow it can get to keep it cool in the hot summer months. The basic models choices out there are FASS, AirDog, MITUSA Belt Drive, Raptor and Holley Blue and Black with mixed results.

For your larger lines Vulcan makes the easiest to use kit that makes the install a snap and the price is right for what you get.

 

Does the Airdog come with the bigger lines or do I still need to get the vulcan kit thanks

 

Both the FASS and Airdog pumps and kits include bigger fuel lines.

 

Not sure of the FASS line size but the AirDog is 1/2".
