I am having a dead pedal problem that only happens in 5th gear at 66mph or faster. If I stay in 4th gear and run the same rpms it runs fine. I replaced the TPS and speed sensor within the last year. My fuel pressure is good. I am moving back up north in 3 days and this starts happening. Any ideas? Thanks Also it does it with the adrenaline turned on or off. No difference. I checked for codes by cycling the ignition and it comes up clear.

 

By dead pedal do you mean the RPM's drop off, or what exactly. Do you run out of power?

 

It is like the fuel gets shut off instantly and the boost falls flat then if just takes off again. I just came back from the parts store and they got no codes with the scanner. As long as I stay under 65mph it runs fine.

 

Sounds like its being governed. You used to be able to go over 65? Can you do 65 or 66 in 4th?

 

Yes I can. It doesn't do it all the time but the more I drive it the worse it gets. I just drove 200 miles and as long as I stayed under 65 I was ok. Sometimes I would get going 75 and it would be ok for a little ways and then start cutting out again until I got under 65. Weird.
