Biodiesel?

I have a 1994 Ford F250 7.3L Turbo IDI, and I was wondering if anyone else had any experiences with different mixtures of biodiesel(B20, B50 etc... We have a supplier here in town and i think its much cheaper than standard diesel so just looking for an alternative.

Also was wondering if anyone has tried WVO, WMO or any other types of fuel with problems.

Lowest here in my area of Indiana is 3.69/gal :ouch::dang:

Yes the mixture of B5, B30 can be used safely in most diesel engines, i think everyone has to check the same with vehicle manufacturer to check the right blend for vehicle.

My opinion. Run whatever blend or straight bio if you want in that motor and keep a couple of fuel filters on hand as when you first start running high concentrations of bio it will clean the tank walls and put the dirt in your filter.

Especially a relatively old idi diesel should be able to run commercially available biodiesel without any issues. As for WVO and WMO, check the other threads in this subforum, there'll be posts claiming terrible things will happen to your motor and posts claiming wonderful things. Personally, I'm too lazy to run wvo, and the shop I work at uses wmo for heat, so I'm no expert on either :c:

The only thing I'd be concerned about is fuel lines in an old motor being able to stand up to bio.

There are cases of people running WVO, bio, and WMO quite successfully. There are also a lot of cases where they've done it unsuccessfully. My suggestion is do a LOT of reading/research. There is a lot of wrong info out there so you're going to have to sift through it all and figure out what works and what doesn't.

I run WVO through my vegistroke equipped 6.0, and love it. No issues from the system or WVO use to date.

You have a very good truck for using alternate fuels , an IDI can run of swamp water if properly filtered.Like already said the crud thats been collecting in the fuel system for decades will come loose for a wile , but once clean you will be good to go.

You may experience some deterioration in the fuel lines, It's a crap shoot really. Some trucks will develop issues from the bio and other will not. You're good to go to run WVO in the idi, It actually likes it. As long as you have the proper elements in place you should have well over 100,000+ of use.
