Food For Thought!!!!!!!!!!

1st- I like Bio and alternatives!

But at what point will the Gov't start wanting their taxes due on the home made fuel that some of us are burning?

Isn't this the samething as running red fuel on the highway?

Red fuel has very little processing and isnt cleaned well. Thats why its reserved for offroad use. The biodiesel your making, if following the common methods with good equipment, is quite clean. Just a matter of time before they start taxing it. Right now there arent enough people doing it for the govt to want their cut. Once the masses start making their own fuel and buying less diesel then the "Man" will want his share.

Red fuel , from what I have read is the same as LSD or ULSD with dye in it to mark it for off road use(no road tax) It processed the same as on road fuel. Farmers and construction companies aren't going to put dirty fuel in equipment that cost four and five times what our trucks do.

I've read a few news reports & posts about some getting find , court ect .
Almost all had bumper stickers saying they run bio , not a good idea .
The bad idea is advertising that your not paying tax's [ that is until the next tea party starts ] , bio is a good idea .

i think it would be a bit difficult for them to put a tax on it...
i suppose the govt. is going to check every diesel owner?

i know of people that have been using "off road diesel" and never once been pulled over or cought... yes it's illeagle! but what isn't? if the government enforced all the laws i think they would have a big problem on their hands... sure they "catch" some people.
of course i can't prove it.. but i think thats just to make some examples. to scare other people from breaking the law

It doesn't go through the emissions additive package part of the process. It's not dirty fuel it just has a higher carbon base and doesn't burn as clean as road fuel.

it will become like it was during the moonshine days,,,,,,who has the still

The Gov't always has had the tax laws in place for it, just nobody follows them. Even when you buy something off the internet from another state and don't get charged any taxes on it you are supposed to report it on your taxes rturns and pay the taxes then, but how many here have ever done that.

If you ever have occasion to have your truck dipped you will find out how strenuous your state is on enforcement of this. The penalties are the same as running the off road fuel in most states, but every state is different.
