The "official" how do I do it thread!
Okay, we hear a lot of discussion on alternative fuels; Could someone that knows what they're doing give us a step by step, "This is how ya do it" set of instructions on HOW to treat waste motor oil for fuel, then the same for other sources?
.......If I could just get that, I'd do this::jump: |
From what i have learned there are a few different ways to go about filtering waste oil for use as an additive... Expensive way, using a pump and a centrifuge filter system such as the DieselCraft unit. I have also seen pump and spin on filter systems. The reason people go with these is because they can filter to a low micron size.
I was looking at a bag system... Just a lower price 2 stage filter bag. 5 to 1 micron. A few runs through this system would seem sufficient. However the argument on what size metal particles are too big will continue. I honestly have NO idea or opinion on that myself... Here are a couple links, Filter bags... McMaster-Carr DieselCraft Filter... Engine Oil Cleaning Hope that helps a LITTLE. Im still thinking about doing it myself. |
