GM 6.2s use basically the same injection system as the IDI Navistars, so I would imagine they would be okay with the same caveat(s).... |
the 7.3 (99-03?) do well too.
Good info at FRYBRID SVO/WVO FORUM an open and public discussion of Vegetable Oil as a fuel |
yeah, i ran my 6.2s on 75% veggie in the summer. no heated tank. just start on the diesel tank and switch to veggie when it warmed up. a friend [chuckd] runs his obs psd on a mixture of 10% gasoline/90% veggie in the warmer months and 25%gasoline/75% veg in the winter and has been doing it for quite a while. he doesnt start on a diesel only tank which would scare me with a direct injection rig.

i got a 1991 7.3L idi and start on diesel then switch to veggie no porbs going on a trip this weekend all on veggie should be good
:rocking: |
My 2000 Ford PSD has over 25,000 miles on Waste Vegetable Oil. Simple home fabricated system. Only had to replace lift pump and fuel selector valves to WVO rated equipment. Traveled cross country multiple times. Have had to switch over to diesel at the top of 10,000' mtn passes though due to power loss, other than that it has plenty of power.

The older Ford I.D.I. engines are the best with veggie. However since I'm looking for a newer Cummins I will convert the oil, into Bio.
