k/N OIL FILTER?

Getting ready to go on a short trip ,had about 4K on the oil so i just changed my oil and came across a k&n oil filter, was comparing it to the fram i had PH3976A and noticed that the fram has 6 3/8" holes on top while the K&n filter has 8 which 7 or about 1/4" or so and 1 was a little bit larger also the inner screen looked somewhat like a cheese grader. guess i will find out how my truck does cause it is on the truck now. Just wondering if anyone has used them a bit pricey? OH the filter was K&N perf.gold HP-4003. Thanks:humm:

The only oil filter I would trust is FLEETGUARD. (Cummins made filter) :U:

Me too..Fleetguard Stratapore (LF-3849) is the only filter that ever touches my baby.

Heard some horror stories about K&N oil filters.

Most people buy a K&N because it got that 1" nut welded on the bottom... Big deal...:humm:

So far every oil change I never hand to use a oil filter wrench or other tool to remove my filter. I can twist it off by hand every time. thread the filter till it makes contact. On the rear side of the filter make a scratch mark or similar. Now twits it 3/4 of a turn the mark will face the passenger side! Your done... :w2:

A mechanic buddy of mine has rebuilt 2 Cummins engines that had K&N oil filters on them.
