Thumbs up What Additives Are You Guys Using/Running

I drive my truck to Maine and back from NC 3 times a year. While I am there, I like to use a additive so my diesel fuel does not gel. I have tried lucas and it did not work to well, but this time I tried AMS OIL and I like it a lot.

I was just wondering what everyone else uses for additives if any at all?

I forgot to add, I used the AMS OIL with the stuff that makes the stuff that helps it not gel and lubricates the engine...

in the summer, i run lucas oil additive+ sulfur additive, i get the best mileage with it, in the fall and winter, i switch to DieselKleen and use the white bottle(the cetane boost with anti-gel) and then if if it gets really bad, i mix both the white and grey bottle in a tank. i was not paying attention sunday to the weather, it got down to zero degrees here with a windchill of -37 so when i went to go to work sunday night, i had issues with gel-ed fuel, mainly in the filter canister. some diesel 911 fixed that

Never had any luck with the Power Service white. I run 2 stroke oil and a blend of #1 and #2, usually 50/50. Best protection from gelling up!!!

It doesn't get cold enough here to gel fuel but I run 2 stroke oil all the time. So your run the amsoil diesel additive with cold flow improver? If it comes from amsoil it should be top notch. I would say run that when cold and run 2stroke when warm.

That is what I was thinking. I got it from my dealer in Asheville who does my truck with the 25,000 miles ams oil. He said it works great..-7 when I got up this morning and she fired right up so no worries with it as of right now...

nice. so how long you been running the ams in your motor? You going 25k or 15k? I myself go 15k as I do a lot of hard driving being in the snow all winter and pulling people outta the ditch etc don't do many long trips with it.. Thats where her honda comes in less to drive and a change of pace for me.

i use howes diesel additives now... i used to run power service in the white bottle but it wasnt working... howes guarantee that if you are using their additive and your truck gels they will pay for the tow... and everyone around here says it is the best... ive only ran two tanks through and it has done the job and i like it so far...
