Default 1983 chevy 6.2 diesel Water/Methanol addition

Hey Y'all so I got a 1983 chevy g30 with a 6.2 in it. Its naturally aspirated and putting on a turbo is more than its worth because its the van style which means a lot of custom fabrication and time and I saw the double shot banks power water/ methanol kit and wondered if anyone had experience in adding one to a naturally aspirated diesel before and how they placed it. This is attached to an RV and it doesn't have enough power to go up hills! I was thinking of adding this because of how much hp and torque gain this advertises and hopefully I will be able to tow my boat with it also. If anyones done it before please help as I see no videos on it or even forums on it,
Thanks

In my opinion it would be less effective on a naturally aspirated engine. I am not sure it would even give more power probably just lower the exhaust gas temp.
Cause without a turbo there isn't any boost gains. Might be a good question for the manufacturer. Banks may not even have any specific data for the kit on a NA diesel.
I would be interested to hear back what you find out.

I dont have any personal experiences but i've read of others using pretty ghetto homebrew stuff - like a windshield wiper pump (constant type) just spraying the 50/50 mix straight into the intake. Hopefully not one with parts that dissolve under methanol... Water/methanol is alot more suited when EGT temps are a problem though. I know the gain on a nonturbo would be far less, part of how it gains is to cool the charge so more boost can be run.

You might have better results with propane injection - at least if you've already tried to turn up the fuel. It doesn't mean it wont smoke (or run hot EGT's from lack of oxygen/get a gauge) but i've heard of pretty ghetto setups with that too... it's pretty much just a controlled bleed of propane. I am not sure whether this works the same on IDI engines as DI though - I thought it did but no way would I trust a random internet poster on such a topic. :^)

Did you ever follow through with your water/methanol kit? Water into the intake of any engine will improve power and fuel economy if done correctly. I have run a controlled water flow to ported vacuum on a gasoline engine and saw a 2-3mpg improvement. On your old 6.2l, you could easily install a small pump from your washer reservoir with a micro-switch on the accelerator and a disconnect switch on the dash. Power increases won't be anywhere near what you would see with a turbo, however you should see 30-50hp providing a suitable amount of water/meth.
