WMO in a CR...whos done it
 

ive been running wmo or black diesel in my 97 cummins for several years. it runs fantastic, yes shes a little cold natured in 35* and colder but after 60 seconds she puffs away on 80/20. this has worked great for so I know it can be done. that being said unless you have actually ran wmo in a vehicle please keep all nay saying to yourself. I have come across a smoking deal on a 04.5 cclb4x4 so I couldn't pass it up. has anybody ever ran wmo in a common rail, either a duramax or a cummins, and possibly a 6.7 ford. how did you do it? I centrifuge so that is a must for me, but what was your mix, mods to your truck? two tank or single? plan on an upgraded lift pump, but did you run heaters? im really leaning to do this even if I cant find someone else doing it, one reason is I have a pinging injector and additive isn't correcting it so if it does damage the injectors, at least they are on some that are already have issues.

I have not run WMO on any of the engines that you are interested in. I have run it on an old 6.2L n/a diesel engine blended at 80/20 as you are doing, and it coked my injectors pretty fast.

From reading many reports on several diesel forums it appears that the direct injected, turbocharged diesel engine run fine on WMO. Those running WMO on the ford 7.3 PSD swear by 85/15 blend, and claim any more gasoline tends to reduce mileage.

Heating any gasoline blend that contains gasoline over 5% tends to cause vapor lock, so you are not going to want to heat your fuel over 120F.

I run the 80/20 ish blend.

my setup consists of a settling drum, centrifuge and then pumped through a string of whole house filters at, a cheap home depot water filter, 10 micron, 5 micron, 1 micron nominal, 1 absolute.

it seems to run great in my duramax with little smoke and starts up fine

the jetta though only likes lower ratios of WMO-80/20 to diesel as it seems to get a vapor lock problem with more than a about 40% while the Duramax runs fine on 100% 80/20 mix.

I have used it on a 96 12 valve a blend of 60 wmo 30 d2 and 10 rug
It ran fantastic more power, BUT it smoked like a freight train, it was embarrassing.
I mixed with rug then let it settle then centrifuged it added the diesel blended some more then poured into the truck.
Why the smoke? I realized later that YOU MUST NOT USE SYNTHETIC oil, I had a 45 gal drum that I had been collecting my wmo for years and only run synthetic mostly amsoil and it does not like to burn without smoke. I was scared to drive it so I syphoned out as much as I could and topped up with diesel and it still smoked, not until I went through another tank and topped it up and added diesel kleen 3/4 litre and ran it hard that it stopped.
I then converted to wvo 2 tank system and have never looked back.
I wish I had tried regular oil not synthetic the first time and would probably still be using it.
So if you are considering doing it make sure you keep the synthetic oil out of it, clean it real good and make sure its completely blended before it goes in the truck.
You will love the increased power.

Just do not run straight WVO in your common rail. Its really tough on injector nozzles. If yourr gonna blend it or run a blended fuel, Its recommend not to run anything higher than 20% blend.
Personally, I'll stick to straight Diesel fuel with Diesel Kleen (gray bottle) and a touch of 2-stroke tcw-3 oil in my CR. :tu:
