Howes Meaner Power Kleaner
Anyone here using Howes Meaner Power Kleaner. I've been using 2 stroke oil, (1 qt. per tank) and about twice a year after changing my fuel filters, I'll dump a full bottle of Howes Meaner Power Kleaner in the tank for two tanks in a row. Not sure if it does any good but it keeps my mind happy anyways.
|
You don't want to dump a full bottle. I believe your suppose to stretch the entire bottle for 4 or 5 tanks, and thats it. You'll end up harming your injectors in an expensive way.
|
Call me crazy, but I was told to change my fuel filter and to fill it up to the top with Howes Meaner Kleaner then replace the cover, start the engine and let run for about 20 seconds, turn engine off, let set for one hour to let Howes clean the injectors, then start it up and go for a ride. I did it and it ran a lot better, so thats why I've been using it twice a year.

i have used it before, it was alright i seen better mpg, but it was a hassle to use that big ole jug, and its super concentrated too
|
Well, better mileage is a good thing.
|
i run it all the time. i only use it the way it says on the bottle. but every once in a while i break the bottle. i love the stuff.
but never have heard of the fill your filter housing fill. |
Al, your wasting it your fuel treatment...if you follow the directions on the bottle you will be using more than enough. And, you could still add some 2 stroke.
I wouldnt fill the filter canister with fuel treatment either. Use some fresh, clean diesel. |
On a new truck (3rd gen) I would NOT use 2 stroke oil in the tank as you are going to hurt something (namely tips in an expensive way!)
Now on the subject of Howes - the product is about as good as they come. Over use will not hurt anything but will end up hurting your pocket book because it is not cheap. Cheers, |
I missed the third gen part - yeah I would have to agree with Mr. Earp.
|
What is the purpose of using the 2 stroke oil?
