Do I need Fuel Pressure Gauge
Hello Bombers,
Just had a question concerning AirDog II and fuel pressure gauges. Do I need to install and run a fuel pressure gauge on my 06 if I am installing the AirDog II and running a smarty. I will more than likely run the smarty at lower power settings due to its life as a daily driver, and for the fact that it logs about 400 miles a week. Do I run the chance of over pressurizing the system, or running it dry without noticing? Would installing a low pressure warning light be sufficient? Interested to know what you think. Thanks again.:w2: |
I dont like idiot lights.........do a gauge then ya know exactly whats goin on
|
The idiot light is based purely on not wanting to have to find a place to put more gauges! Your right though, if a gauge is necessary I would rather have it than the light. Thanks.

On a CR a fuel pressure gauge is not quite as critical as on a VP powered truck. I don't like idiot lights either though. Don't have a fuel pressure gauge on the '05 with an Airdog unit installed. Haven't had any issues yet in over three years. It couldn't hurt anything to have one though... :c:

Id do a Rail Pressure Gauge
|
you can get the low fp light with the air dog that thing works perfect!
|
So how do you know if your light is working?
Having a pressure switch with no way of testing its operation isnt the best idea. |
because everytime im @ 1/4 tank and hit the on ramp on my way to work it lights up my cab
|
Very scientific...
|
i have a fp gauge too the light comes on and the needle dont event move , the light is more accurate it reads from the pump its self
