question bout airdog psi
 

my airdog, when i got the fp gauge hooked up, was reading between 18-20 at idle and drop no lower than 17 psi.
now it is reading between 27-31 psi bouncing around. is this a fp gauge problem or a problem with the airdog, or nothing to worry bout.

24v should read around 15psi

Double check your line. Some weird things can happen if you get air in the line from your isolator to the gauge.

i have the gauge plummed into the airdog, the other port on it that wasnt being used. from there its just a wire running to the gauge

Sorry that I am just now responding to your post. I did not get a chance to get on the forums yesterday. There a couple things I would like to have you check. First, it could very well be a gauge issue. I am not sure if you have another gauge, but that would definitely be some thing to check out.

Also, we sell a gauge port fitting that allows you to hook the fuel pressure gauge up right at the injection pump. These are inexpensive fittings, and can be purchased for less than $8.00.

The pressure on the AirDog is maintained by a regulator behind the return fitting on the AirDog. If debris gets caught in the regulator and keeps it from opening up correctly, this can cause issues with the pressure. To check this; remove the fitting that is coming from the AirDog return line (the line feeding back to the tank), and check for any debris or matter that could be causing the spring or check ball to stick.

Another issue that could be causing the problem is a bend or obstruction in the return line itself. Gradual bends in the fuel return line are expected, but any sharp turns can restrict the fuel line and reduce the ability of the return line to bleed off the excess fuel pressure.
