hose from precleaner to exhaust??
I am wanted to straight pipe a piece of farm equipment with a cummins engine in it. It may be a stupid question, but i want to know what the hose from the precleaner to the inside of the muffler does. And if i staight pipe it, what should i do with that hose.

It doesn't do anything imporatant i'd say you are good to just do away with it.

actually it does do something fairly important. It will draw large particles of foreign matter from the filter intake and blow them out the exhaust, instead of letting them lodge in the filter, which would severely shorten the service interval of the filter, its called a scavenging intake pre-cleaner
