Default Case IH MX110 Performance??

We had gotten this tractor a few years ago. The fuel pump was already turned up.
stock power: 95 pto hp
we had it dynoed: 118 pto hp
I would like to get more power out of it, I know it is possible but cant find the right person who has the knowledge. All the local dealers say if the pump is turned up its all they can do.
(We had one mechanic look at it while he was out doing other work, he said "It is turned up all the way") I would like to get up around 135-150 pto hp, kinda of like a mx170 Be a little nicer for running my 15' discbine. Don't know if there is different injectors, turbo, fuel pump that I could upgrade to? Anybody with any thoughts or who I should get a hold of thanks in advance

not to sure but most case tractors have cummins engines in them might want to check on that. i know the mx 170 has a 5.9 in it but as far as turning it up any farther if your dioing it just for pto and not pulling you might be ok but if it is going to pull a load you might excede the capibilties of the trans and rear end if so it might be cheaper to up grade tractor and not have to fix either. i know case and new holland are the same company just a lot of their stuff is just a little differnt so get some info and i'll look in to it

An MX110 at MX170 HP levels , is going to chew up some parts. The tractors are pretty similar, but contrary to popular belief, the rear end/transmission is not the same on all of the MX's, the 150 and 170 got bigger transmissions and rear ends, while having the same engine.

with that said , you should be able to get another 10-15 hp out of it before your really in the danger zone. A set of bigger injectors would do the tractor ( say some out of an MX 135, as they are bigger, but the larger models had a larger IP also.) a 15' discbine is sorta on the big side for an mx110 , so i can see why you need more juice I run a 12' Moco on an mxm 155 and it struggles sometimes, but i have seen the grass up higher than the hood of the tractor too

I have a neighbor that had an MX170 ( traded on an MXM175 now) that was putting about 200 hp out PTO shaft, he never did figure out why he kept chewing up transmissions.

hi, i use to drive a few case mx tractors,eg,110.120.135.150.170. all of wich where screwed to safe power, the case 100.120,135 are all the same and can br turned up by a 17mm nut on the back of the pump, to be safe 140hp is plenty, with 165hp realy pushen the pto pack to its max, the mx 150/170 are also the same but pump will have to be removed to get more power, with max power being 220hp but again this pushes back end to its max, hope this helps you,

in 2002 we bought a mx 110, we turned up pump to 147hp at pto, tractor has now 9200hrs on clock and has got only 1 pto pack and 2nd and 3rd power pack, also have a mx 170 doing 220hp at pto with over 10000hrs no problems with rear end as yet, but did have to replace head gaskit at 8000hrs, backends are diffrent in the to tractors but used right you will have no problems, the 110 is as fit as the 170 on road with 16ton dump trailer and alot less bouncy that 170

hi a case mx 110 can easly do 170hp on the shaft, but for saftey sake 150 max, no need to change anything to boost power just turn pump up, i worked for a contractor 10 years ago he bought a new mx 110 the dealer set it to 147hp on shaft for delivery, boss thought it wasnt enuf so give screw a full turn!! the tractor has worked 12000hrs now only needing 1 pto pack and a 2nd and 3rd power pack, he also had a mx 170 doing 220hp on the shaft, but pump has to be removed on the 150/170 to be set up,

If is a case mx 110/120/135 we are talken about then its best to get the tractor on a dyno to do it so you know how far to go with turning up. Tho its 11 years ago no if I can rember correct. It uk sepec mx 110 there is a 13mm bolt on it back of the pump it should have a wire seel on it. Remove the seal. Turn screw out in anti clockwise direction. Thus opening the pump out. 3 and a half turn from standard. But other countries may have different types of pump so fueling may be more are less by each turn. But be sure to use a dyno as it could go to far and eat the packs out of the gearbox are worse! Also make sure tractor is well warmed up before dyno running. But DO NOT go past 170 with these tractors back end will never stick it. Hope this helps you

great help thanks casemxfan

i did try it with the 19mm nut on back of pump but it did not seem to do anything will now put it back into original position and try it with 13mm nut

i also turned the rpm up a little letting it rev out to 2550 as opposed to 2350 to get a little more speed on the road - will this do any harm?

appreciate all the help

thanks all

It csn if you do alot of road work. The bearing on front of the drop box can go with the extra speed. But it will leek long befor it would collapse. They don't like the revs turned up much. But they ar slow for a 40kph tractor. Most around here went to 2800rpm and 1 man I know of went to 3000! Rpm it did not go well and after a very costly repair the tractor was put back to 2400
