who makes good brakes ?

i posted this a while ago but who makes good brake pads? ive herd mixed things about Wagner thermo quiets and never heard anything about Wagner severe duty . any help would be great im clueless when it comes to brakes. ive also heard ceramics are good but they tend to crack and don't stop as quickly. thanks

do you tow? i run napa severe duty on the front and seem to work very well and no dust. i had the premium advance on the fronts at first, they lasted 70k towing but dusty. napas are hard, time will tell what they do to the rotors. hope this helps...Bowie Trucking, LLC

i tow on a semi regular basis but i really don't use my brakes. i use down shifting and my exhaust brake most of the time so i just went with factory ford pads. i used the "dura last cmax gold" on my 94 and they wore down to nothing in 10,000 miles. and that's mainly break drag.

you hard on breaks!!! lol i weigh 18,200 with my new air ride heavy ass trailer. i drove tractor trailer for 12 years and would say i'm very easy on brakes but hauling heavy like that you will use up some pads...165k and counting and the rears are still stock and the trailer pads are still stock on both my trailers!!! we just put new rotors and pads on my 95. it had around 90k on them, and we put advance pads on them too come to think about it both times because they were the only place open!. no dust there either...

i don't use my brakes enought to know what the dust would be like lol if i need to stop fast i can shut it down pretty quick but if you don't drive with your head up your :moon: then you shouldn't need to stop fast. when i'm towing i know where i'm going and slow down gradually.

just bought Wagner severe duty love them so far no dust no noise

Were they expensive. Did you buy rotors?

Performance Friction makes Carbon Metallic pads that are better than stock. They emit less dust and last longer. If your hard on your brakes then they are worth looking at.
