need injectors

my newly acquired 00 stroke has three bad injectors. I was wondering.where.I could get.some cheap remans at.

superduty01 06-15-2012 12:04 PM

Pensecola fuel injectors sells remans for $129, dont charge upfront core, 12mo warrantly. i bought 2 a while back havent had any problems with them.

joebob3093 06-15-2012 12:44 PM

dont EVER buy anything from pensecola diesel.

how do you know they are bad?

CSIPSD 06-15-2012 12:55 PM

I would not buy anything from Pensocola...

As was said, what leads you to believe you have bad injectors?

wyoranch 06-16-2012 12:01 AM

three of them failed a contribution test on a snap on modis scanner

I figured that was the reason... You have a long way to go before you assume a failed Cont test...

What symptoms do you have otherwise?

Good info for you here...

wyoranch 06-16-2012 08:50 AM

it runs like crap. hard to start and then it has a miss. gets worse if you turn the chip.to a higher power. so you're telling me that even though it failed a contribution test that the injectors may be OK?

CSIPSD 06-16-2012 10:31 AM

I'm telling you that a failed contrubution test does not say "INJECTORS". It may very well be injectors, but it would sure suck to spend $500 bucks on 3 new injectors to find out you have a bad UVC, or a fuel system problem.

That PDF I threw up has some good info.

Thanks for the info, I've got some work to do before I can even troubleshoot it now. I just crawled under it and apparently the frame mounted fuel pump went out so the previous owner spliced in some parts store fuel pump before it. Didn't even bypass the old one. I figure that could be part of it. I doubt it'll run right after I fix that but it'll keep from messing more stuff up.

did it have any mods when you bought it? that is a mod some people do... Welcome to guzzle's Helper/Lift pump Web Page
so the original may not be bad, jm2c

Well, that may be the case. I'm gonna stick a fuel pressure gauge on it tomorrow and see. I assumed it was just rigged BC the factory pump didn't work but they both seem to work. Apparently the first owner took pretty good care of it. It has gauges and a Turbo timer, also it looks like an adjustable wastegate maybe. It has some adjustment on the boost line from the Turbo to the little pressure sensor on the passenger firewall. New to powerstrokes so I'm not sure what this is

CMCA Swartzkrautheim 06-20-2012 11:16 AM

its a boost limiter so if your makin more than 22 psi of boost the computer dont know about it so the engine dont defuel, with that on there id guess they probably had a tuner on it too

wyoranch 06-20-2012 05:15 PM

Yeah. It has a 4 position chip on it and a Turbo timer too

CMCA Swartzkrautheim 06-20-2012 10:40 PM

Lol yea its an extra lift pump
