Next Mod for the Truck
 

Well, all the Mods so far are listed in my Signature.

I'm wanting to get suggestions/advice on what I should do next. Most of you have been down this road before, some a FEW times. I am shooting for about 450 HP and wanting to maintain a reliable DD and Tow Rig, and occasionally make believers out of those that doubt the abilities of a Diesel Truck as far as performance and sheer A$$ kicking power. My trailer is a 35' Toyhauler when loaded is about 12,500 lbs.

I know that there are threads about doing Big Oil or not, or whether to use AC injectors or Hybrids, or Fuel Ret Systems etc. Keep in my mind I am building a little at a time and want to keep reliability and towing strong.

So what would be the next step in building?:humm:

Here is the order I would go about it...

Intake (Done)
Exhaust (Done)
Gauges (Done)
Chip (Get some custom tunes on your chip)
Trans mods
Fuel system
Injectors (For your goal, some AC's with 100% nozzles will work...Or some small Hybrids)
Turbo (You already have the 38r, I would run that)
HPOP (Depending on if you need it or not, You can roll with the stock one on some small hybrids, The AC's will push it, Need to know what condition your pump is in)
Studs, springs, pushrods (Do em now for the extra insurance...)

I may have forgotten something....

AC's with 100% would put you right at 400... Going to need a bit more for 450...

238/100 would make 450 pretty easy.

Is the DieselSite CPR Fuel system as good as it gets? Or are there others that are comparable?

Dieselsites fuel system is very good, but I prefer Strictly Diesels (what I run).

Hybrids are a type of injector A core with B p&b...

Ahh Thanks! I checked Strictly Diesel and they were out of the product, and DieselSites says they are 3-4 weeks out.

Do I read the Strictly Diesel right? Their product is a little less money?

Depends on what your looking at. I have a full regulated return with the bowl delete... But Dieselsites comes with a pickup, pump and filters IIRC.

Just make sure your comparing apples to apples, not apples to cow dung... LOL

I'm totally confused at this point...You say have a "full regulated w/bowl delete", does that mean some systems aren't fully regulated?

I need a cheat sheet to understand abbreviations...IIRC?

So is it necessary to have a Hi Performance Fuel Pump when using an AirDog II and Regulated Return fuel system?

You'll get them over time... LOL I still see some that I go WTF?

Here is a tank to motor kit...

Driven Diesel High Performance Fuel Delivery Kit

And here is the regulated return...

And here is the same kit but with the fuel bowl deleted...

Now if you delete the fuel bowl you have to add a filter set up under the truck, both a water seperator and a final filter. The factory system only filters to 12 micron, my prefilter/water seperator is a 10 micron, so I am already better then factory. My final filter post pump is a 2 micron... Not much getting thru.

I prefer Strictlydiesel kit because of the SS hard lines and the SS flex lines. I think they look better and perform better. I may be full of it, but I like his better.

Thats not saying Bobs is not a great kit, I just prefer the look of Dennis's kit.

So with the Driven Diesel System, What are you using for a prefilter/water separator?

Is the "High Performance Fuel Delivery" do the same thing as an AirDog II? And why is the AirDog so popular?

Dennis supplies a prefilter for his in tank system, Its a baldwin filter... I use two Napa filter heads and spin on wix filters.

Airdog is popular because it works, its simple and bolts on. You could run a Strictly in-tank, then run your own lines to a Airdog and then your own lines to the motor and to an Strictly Diesel Bowl delete...

One of our sponsers now have a two piece sump that I really want... you could run one of those too! then you would not need the pick up...

Ok now I'm really confused, based on what you suggested earlier...What kit is considered for the pick up?

I understand the Alligator application...it can be used with whatever fuel pickup to transfer the fuel from the tank to the motor. In between the tank and the motor the ADII kit would be installed, then next would be a fuel bowl delete kit...and that's it as far as "Regulated Return" is concerned.

No more kits or systems are needed?

I am trying to understand the products that are available and what they do...so if I use ADII as the system to go between the tank and the motor, actually the "Strictly" Hi Performace Delivery kit would be the same?
