lift blocks

a buddy of mine put a set of 2 inch lift blocks in the front axle of his 03 superduty and its been just fine, and i was thinking of doing it to mine to get a little more hight out of my truck, but i wanted to kno if its really a good idea or not.

Re: lift blocks

Im pretty sure lift block in the front are illegal and a really bad idea

yes REALLY bad idea, if you hit a bump hard enough or get in a wreck or something you could really f*** up the front en cause it would allow the front axle move easier and farther, it is a EXTREMELY BAD idea

Are you talking about lift blocks or those mini spring packs that use a center pin to hold them to the factory leaf?

Uhhh what are mini spring packs? Ohhh you mean those 1/2" thick chunks of strap steel from ebay????

1. Those aren't leafs
2. They're :edit:!!!
3. Made from carbon steel strap, they're softer than dirt and indent EASY so later they come loose and slap around screwing up the axle and the leafs before they get spit out like lift blocks
4. The distribute the force across what? 12"? instead of across the entire leaf
5. Did I mention: THEY'RE :edit:!!!!!

Do yourself a real favor and get a set of leveling leafs to add to your stock leaves. Summit Racing has nice sets under the summit name that are really TCI units. Lifted my truck 2" in the front to clear my 36's and they drop maybe 1/2" with a 10' Boss V-plow vs 1 1/2 to 2" with the stock springs.

I would highly suggest new springs I put lift blocks in the rear of a buddies truck the other week cause he didn't want to buy springs lets just say one kicked out and the axle literaly fell out while wheeling.

Mini spring packs like this that use a new center pin to hold them onto the spring. I can't see these things coming out unless you shear that pin:
