TS Chip settings questions.. dont flame me too badly
So I want to get a TS style chip. Thats already determined here. My problem is I dunno what settings I want/ need. My sig has the mods my truck has. So with that being said I don't wanna smoke my trans, I will haul a 7000 pound loaded trailer across the country within the year, and I have stacks so the smoke feature would be cool for screwing around occasionally. One last thing.. i just want to say my truck can make 300 rwhp with the chip and mods i have.. do you think i can do that reliably? So what would yall recommend? This truck isnt used for racing on the track but I do live in the Colorado and I love going offroading here in the mountains.. I have sent PM's to different vendors but nobody has gotten back to me.
Also is any of the specific tuners better then any other? |
Talk to any of the tuners out there, and they will recommend some good tunes for your set up. I personally have Ran DPTuner and am running Tyrant Diesel tunes now. Loved them both, really enjoying my Tyrant Diesel Tunes. Cale has my truck dialed in

I can't help with the tech question but as for the vendors alot specialize in only a certain make, others are simply not very active on the boards. I would let these guys in here answer your tech questions and help you decide on what tuner would fit you best, then toss a thread up in the "request a price quote" section. That sends all the vendors a PM telling them what you are looking for and then you can decide who you would like to do buisness with.

My Tony Wildman chip has stock, high idle, tow, economy, street race, extreme... I am almost always in street or extreme. Also, If you pick a tuner who does free reburns, try out a couple different settings you are interested in. If you don't like them after trying them, send it back for some other ones. |
Also if you go with a traditional ts chip with standard tunes you can always get custom tunes later on if you want. Which IMO is awesome because of all the options

IMO, call around, pick a tuner with free reburns. Then buy the chip with the custom tunes. It will be cheaper in the long run. Not trying to nitpick, just simply stating. |
No I agree 100% with you guys. I was just stating the possibilities of the TS chips

Gotcha, I read your post wrong.

Its all good man

James, dont mind him, he is a Dodge guy!!!
Good points by all. If you can, look on Craigslist for a TS CHip, they are usually cheaper there and then u can send it to a tuner and have them burn the tunes cheaper. Heck there is a TS Chip on Spokane Craigslist for $225 right, might be able to get it cheaper |
