EBP gauge

so i took the truck to the shop and had my quad pod installed and had tranny temp, boost, pyro, and EBP installed, well my question is if my EBP is correct, they drilled a hole in the exhaust is right next to ta the pyro probe, and at idle and driving down the road it reads right round 0psi, and if i hammer down for jesus it reads the same readings as my boost, when my boost reads 20 psi so doesnt my EBP (my valve doesnt close ither)

nobody knows??:humm:

if im not mistaken boost and back pressure should be the same. if everything is working right.

Lange503 02-07-2011 04:50 PM

i would be more worried about drive pressure than back pressure?

99stackedpowerstroke 02-07-2011 05:36 PM

well ya, but i was just wondering if the EBP was right, and the boost is the same as it was on the last gauge that i had in there, by drive pressure you do mean boost right?

---AutoMerged DoublePost---

the reason i was asking is because im wiring the valve to a switch and i want to make sure that this is accurate so i dont blow the motor :ouch:

Cummins123 02-07-2011 06:42 PM

why do you want one?:td:

99stackedpowerstroke 02-07-2011 10:32 PM

uh so i dont blow my motor, and to me thats not a thumbs down, im pretty sure that not wanting to blow a motor is a good thing

your drive pressure will be close to if not double your boost numbers, on a stock turbo anyways

99stackedpowerstroke 02-08-2011 11:25 AM

Okay but what do you mean by drive pressure?? But does anybody know if my EBP sounds accurate??

CSIPSD 02-08-2011 01:41 PM

On a stock turbo your EBP should be about the same as the boost to about 18psi, then it will go up from there. At 25# boost you will be at 35-40psi back pressure...
