new tranny questions

ok bare with me, i have came across some money and my stock transmission has to go, but other than that, i dont really know much about it. as of right now im putting about 400 hp to the ground, but in the future i am hoping to get it up to 750-800(if things go as expected haha). i want to get it built right the first time, so in the future when i start pushing big hp, the tranny can hold it. i am looking for suggestions on where to go for quality service, and price estimates. i have read several threads about this, but none of them ever really specify how much they are built to hold.

Suncoast with Billet Shafts.

With the mods in your sig your putting about 300-320hp MAX to the wheels... Just is what it is. Stock injectors will not put out enough fuel for more then that.

beyond that, I have said this many many times. BTS. Brians Truck Shop... Lead Hill AK.

Do it once, do it right.

You buy one BTS tranny and you will never have a tranny issue again. No BS, No pushing you one way or another.

It is what it is. Brian builds one level of tranny, A BTS...

I have a Suncoast, and its fine, TC is too tight, and they want me to pay to loosen it so I have not done anything with it. I broke the foward drum... I paid to fix it...

BTS, BTS, BTS...:tu:

haha i knew that you were going to say that csi, and that sounds like the way im going to go. next question how does bts go about the rebuilt, do i send them my tranny and they rebuild the original, and then send it back, or do they send a "new" one and i send the stock one as a core... because i really want it done, but i cant be with out my truck for very long... because its my only means of transportation. thanks

call them up and ask them... Most times they send you your tranny and you send them the core. Or you can make an appt and just drive there and WATCH them build it. I have heard its quite the treat.

i would love to watch, but dont think i can find the time between football workouts, summer school, and hopefully a summer job. college life man... the swap isnt too hard is it? ive taken transmissions out before, but only on older gassers, never this truck(or one like it)

CSIPSD 05-30-2010 11:06 AM

No differant. A bit heavier but just the same.

Lawson 05-30-2010 12:06 PM

sweet... cant wait to got this taken care of

Go BTS.

Pulling the trans was actually really nice on my truck, but I had a 10" lift and 38's at the time...

And don't worry Lawson, I wish I was putting down 400 too... But sadly, I'm closer to 325... :(
