Upgrades
So i really want to get some stacks, intake and a chip, but i will not have time to put the stacks on untill summer. Will it hurt the truck if i run stock exhaust with intake and a chip? or just wait for all of it.

IMO, I wouldn't run a chip until you have some gauges, At the very least an EGT gauge...
The stock exhaust is super restrictive and you will be surprised how hot it can get especially if you do any towing. I would do intake, exhaust, gauges, then get a chip. |
2 Attachment(s)
Ditto... The stock downpipe on the OBS is just a disaster.
Attachment 41986 Attachment 41987 It flows like crap... Do an exhaust system, EGT gauge and go from there. Hell I bet I picked up 20hp with the exhaust system on my OBS... |
Dang, was it a beezy to get out?

What will it do for your MPG's?
|
It will mostly just allow your truck to get the air out efficiently. You probably will not notice a gain in MPG...
|
also depending on the size of downpipe you get you may need to a little choppin away at the firewall to fit it in
|
You will most likely need to make a little room for the new downpipe. Nothing too serious though. Well worth it.

i ran my chip without an intake or exhaust for about a month, but i had gauges. you will notice a difference after the exhaust. didnt hurt the truck any, just kept the EGTs up there.
