Longest lasting 7.3L??

I would like to get some input on this, i've heard the average is 300,000k but i've heard stories of them going much further than that, i've even heard of a 7.3 going 600,000k!!

biged681985 11-13-2010 08:53 PM

i know of one here in Iceland that has over 1.000.000km on it... but the frame and body is in poor shape... but that's just because of salty and misty conditions here...

forget the 5.9l. Is it possible to punch a 6.7l cummins to 7.3l? :tttt:

prison 12-23-2010 09:01 PM

the only boring i'd do on a 6.7 cummins would be a hole right in the side of the block. as i now wait for the dodge guys to see this and freak out. i've seen a couple 7.3's with mid 400k's and one with 888k

I love cummins motors too, worked on em both alot. but It bugs me that people hate on the biggest production diesel engine to go into a pickup, #1 selling pickup to boot and the HEUI system may not make insane power, but its a reliable workhorse and highly underrated torque monster:rocking: long live the 7.3L powerstroke!!

I read that also, How do you get 100,000 miles on a set of tires. I burn off a set of tires every 25,000 miles. Hell I had 22.5 truck tires on my 06 and at 80,000 miles they were wore down to the wear bars on the tires.

The 7.3 was a perty good engine, decent power decent on fuel especially when not towing. HEUI while nothing like the common rail. was a state of the art fuel system in its day.
