HPOP?
 

Ok so my first question is about the oil pressure gauge in the dash. Is it for the HPOP pressure? And if it is should I replace mine? Im running very low oil pressure, when I am coasting it is on the red mark and on hard acceleration im just above the line on the low side. If I need a new HPOP I hear the superduty pumps put out more pressure. Will one of those bolt up to a 1995 OBS? Also does international sell the higher psi pump that went on the superduty over the counter? Any help would be nice, I am on a budget so some cost efficent replies would be nice too.

The oil pressure gauge is for the regular oil pump, not the high pressure pump.

Pressure gauge in the dash is for the low pressure lube oil. The sensor is on the top of the High Pressure Oil Reservoir. You could have a bad sensor or you could have a weak or dieing LPOP...

Ok so my gauge twitches alot, when im driving it can drop down to absolutely zero pressure but then when it idles it goes back up to normal pressure. Does this sound like the LPOP? If it is what is the cost of a new one, and how big of a job is it to replace it? Do i just drop the oil pan and throw a new one up there?

Sounds like a bad sensor to me... Check the wire going to it, also clean it good. Then replace it if that does not work.

The LPOP is behind the balancer, remove the balancer and remove the pump, reinstall the pump and balancer and there ya go.

Where is the oil pressure sender located at on the 7.3?

top of the High Pressure Oil Res... see if I have a picture...

Found one... the arrow is a aftermarket oil pressure sender, to the left of it and under that bracket is the factory sender. On a OBS it is a one wire sender, on a superduty it is a two.

Ok problem fixed. My pressure at idle is about 28 psi, and over 70psi WOT. Was just the sender. Thanks for the help.
