Extra Capacity Fuel Tank

I want to up the fuel capacity on my 1993 F-250 Diesel and wanted upgrade the rear frame tank to a higher capacity, but I can't find any extra capacity tanks that don't say "not for diesel" in the description. The bed is already as cluttered as I would like to allow, with dual stacks, a big coffin lid toolbox, LP tank and water/meth tank, so I'd rather not consider a tool & fuel...especially since I JUST bought the aluminum toolbox that's in it not too long ago.

Has anyone found an extra capacity rear replacement tank that is Diesel friendly? If so, I'd be very interested in the details.

Also, could a 33 gal poly Bronco tank be used? Cause that's about all I can find for extra capacity poly tanks. Oh yeah, being that both of my stock tanks rusted out and dumped about 30 gal of No.2 on the parking lot, I'd like to stay away from steel tanks if possible.

Thanks.

What he said, but remember to measure before you buy, the 38 gal. was an option even in the superduty (I have a F-Superduty all original with 51250 on it right now, twin 20's). You can get a 38 gallon tank for a 80-89 ford it is the rear tank, but I believe that they changed the frame starting in 90, (someone please correct me if I'm wrong on the reason for 89 being the cuttout year) anyways it is on page 103 of the LMC Truck catalog, you can look it up online at LMCTruck.com

P.S. 1 cubic foot = 7.48 Gallons (roughly) & it wouldn't be too hard to make one.

I dont see why a bronco tank wouldn't work, plenty of diesel bronco conversions around.

Thanks for the tips! :tu: I didn't realize the F-Superdutys had factory 38 gallon tanks. I'll look around and see what I can come up with.

Would it fit in a F-series without extensive modification?

yesm, frames are almost the same.

Why would it matter if it's a diesel tank or not? A tank is a tank, right?
