dpf delete advice

Trying to help my brother in law he has an 07 and is just about to hit 100k so he will finally do the dpf. Not looking for crazy power or any extra from a tuner really just deleting the dpf and probably the egr to help that motor breath and last longer. What's the most efficient way. Money is an issue. but we're not gonna half ass it either. thanks

DPF delete pipe and a Smarty Jr or XRT Pro.

as luke said but the combo i prefer to use is the mbrp aluminized downpipe and dpf delete pipe w/o bungs and the XRT pro its not the least expensive way or the most expensive but to me you get the most for your money that way and you have the option with the xrt pro of the overdrive transmission software down the road if the truck in question is an automatic

x2 on the xrt pro and delete pipe. i think the delete pipe was $118 from rollinsmokediesel.com

luke if your on a tight budget you can take your dpf off and hollow it out and reinstall. disconnect exhaust temp sensors and then disconnect the two tubes from dpf and install plugs remove the other two ends of these lines from the sensor that is mounted on the side of the transmission and leave the sensor ports open to atmosphere meaning dont plug them off. remove throttle valve which is mounted to intake horn, remove the throttle blade from inside than reinstall throttle valve and leave unplugged. delete the egr valve by removing valve and make or by a plate to go back in its place. remove the motor from the egr valve and pull the plunger out and discard plunger and egr valve but leave motor connected to harness. also leave sensor in egr crossover tube connected to harness. delete egr cooler and than get a smarty jr with the me software. You can do it this way for about 500-600 dollars. you can program with the smarty and than remove from truck. the xrt pro has to remain in the truck and is alot more expensive.

The Smarty Jr has to stay locked to your truck. If you remove it you set it back to stock.
