Biggest Tires with Stock ride height?
 

Trying to find new tires for my truck since the stock tires just look too small. Any recommendations on tires or sizes?

I was looking at the Goodyear Wrangler Duratrac. Any thoughts?

i just put some m/t baja 315's on mine and its a 2010 4x4

Quad cab 4x4 ith the stock 17" rims

I put 305 Nitto Terra Grapplers on stock 17in rims on my 2010, 2500, Mega Cab, 6.7, 4x4. They look great and don't sling much mud on the sides. No rubbing issues anywhere

I run 275/55R20 which are 31.91 inches tall and 10.82 inches wide

Putting the first number from your tires isn't going to give anyone a correct size, unless your just trying to give width. the taller the tire is the more that width comes into play though.

For tall tires 305 and 315 mean nothing without the next numbers 305 ??r??

example of a 305 which is taller than a 315:

a 315/55r17 is 30.64 inches tall and 12.40 wide

a 305/65r17 is 33.12 inches tall 12.00 wide

The width of the 305 would probably poses more problems than the 315 because it is 1.25 inches further out from center.

The first three numbers in a typical size (225/45R17) are the tire's indicated section width in millimeters, measured from sidewall to sidewall.

If you are familiar with measurements in inches, the section width in millimeters can be converted into inches by dividing it by 25.4. For example:

225mm / 25.4 = 8.86"

The second pair of numbers (225/45R17) is the tire's aspect ratio or profile. This is a ratio of sidewall height to section width. The section height's measurement can be calculated by multiplying the section width by the aspect ratio. The answer will be the height of one sidewall. For example:

225mm x 0.45 = 101.3mm
8.86" x 0.45 = 3.99"

The last number (225/45R17) is the diameter of the wheel in inches.

If you are familiar with measurements in the metric system, the wheel diameter can be converted into millimeters by multiplying it by 25.4. For example:

17" x 25.4 = 431.8mm

To calculate the overall diameter of a tire, the sidewall height must be multiplied by 2 (remembering that the tire diameter is made up of 2 sidewalls, the one above the wheel and the one below the wheel touching the ground) and add the diameter of the wheel.

101.3mm + 101.3mm + 431.8mm = 634.4mm
3.99" + 3.99" + 17" = 24.98"

how about for dually how big can you go , when do you need spacers

On the dually actully depends on if ur hauling heavey loads u got to make sure ur tires are not rubbing together

Im about to run 305 40 22s on a stock 2wd

im considering some 305/65/17s for my truck in a bfg km2 flavor. Just wish I could find a picture of somebody running this size to see how they look.

i got nitto trail grapplers 295/70/17 on mine i am on the second set and love them just wish they would last longer than 35k but what do you expect for mud terrains and they are load rang e which is hard to find in a mud terrain i have no rubbing issuses and everyone thinks my truck is lifted and its stock as stock can be on suspension
