6.7 turbo - need help

I am doing a dpf and egr delete because I keep getting 2262's and my truck is out of warranty (07.5 model). Turbo lags on heavy acceleration and I suppose it is dirty.

What I need is a picture of a turbo with the cleaning port. I need to know where to drill the hole. The TSB has 3 diagrams of it and in each of the diagrams it shows the darn thing in 3 different places! I know, I know, there is a jig you are supposed to use but I don't care to buy it. If somebody could direct me to a picture of a real live turbo with the cleaning port plug it sure would be appreciated. Already have the plug and drill bit.

Thanks,

Charles

I just looked on mine and there isnt a cleaning port on it that I see anyhow figured I'd look at it before I sold it. I figured it might be alot easier to see it out of the truck sorry brother

I wound up pulling the turbo and taking it apart and cleaning it. Probably was the best thing to do since I could use real solvent and not just soapy water. I got it squeaky clean and put it back on so I am good to go. Thanks man.

I betting is was a hard carbon build up?

actually is was jet black and very soft, like flour. and dry for the most part except the downstream elbow on the turbine side was black and oily.

the buildup on the fins on the turbine side was awful and if that turbo can last with buildup like that, it sure is a well made piece of equipment.

compressor side had some black soot as well, dry and soft.

I believe that is correct sir.

My truck is not covered under warranty as it is a rebuilt salvage title vehicle. That's more info than I figured anybody cared about here, but since you asked...

The story on mine was that someone put the wrong fuel in it and the insurance company totalled the vehicle. Then a car dealer/shop found a wrecked truck (hit in the back) with a good engine (same year 07.5). This engine was put in my truck, and the bad engine that had been messed up with the bad fuel was discarded.

So I have a low mileage 07.5 that has no warranty of any kind, that is like new. Which works great for me because I have no apprehension about doing things that might void the warranty!

I just though I was helping, didn't want to upset you, I've bought rebuilt title cars before, but they were body damage. I got a great deal & my father-in-law owns a BODY SHOP:yeah:

How long did it take you to clean the turbo? come apart pretty easy?
Im thinking about doing the same thing but im kinda worried about keeping all the electronics 'safe' so I dont have any more problems!
