22.5" wheel conversion

hey anybody put 22.5" on a 6.7. i am thinking about it for better fuel mileage since i am running hotshot with my truck. i am curious if it raises the gear ratio. i dont want to lose any pulling power running :run:down the road. let me know if any of yall got any info

if anything bigger wheels would lower your mpg.

what kind of gears in the rear end?

22.5's are too much dude

I run the 19.5's and its plenty, got a 6k rating per wheel and get 120k miles out of em

I run the 6 speed so it works out good in 6th with no load and good in 5th with heavy load and mountains

What size tires you got on those 19.5's ?

i think my truck is either the 3:42 or 3:73 rearend. i wanted a 4:10 so i could go with the bigger wheels and still come out with around a 3:92 or 3:73 but i couldnt even special order a truck like that.:argh:

I got Michelin E rated tires [ 285/75-16 ] and they are 33 Inches tall at 65 PSI.

So, on a 19.5 Inch rim, the 285's gives you only 2 inches extra in diameter?

I have 22.5 with 255/70 and 5 inch exhaust on 97 5.9 cummins. I get 23 mpg.

If you have a 3:42 forget about it.
If you have 3.73 it you can do it.

I have 3.73 gears and I have the updated G56 tranny Build date was fall of 09. Pulling in OD under 65 gets the RPM's a little low on my 5.9
I liked it better with the orginal G56.

I like my 22.5's but I think if I was to do it again I would go with 19.5's
