Put a Rokktech crank sensor on my 6.7....

I hung onto my Rokktech crank sensor when I sold all my other 5.9 stuff. I was told that the crank sensor for the 6.7s had the same part number as the ones for the 5.9s. I asked if anybody had tried it on their 6.7 and got no response other than several people wanting me to let them know how it worked if I ever did it. Well, just as it was when we started doing all the crazy stuff to the brand new 03 3rd gens, I have decided to be the guinea pig and I put it on today. The truck starts and runs just fine and I noticed no real power gains of any kind (exactly like it was on my 07 5.9). I will give it a few days and see if the mileage looks like it might be up. My over head has been hovering between 13.3 and 13.5 mpg for the last few days and if anything it would have gone down a bit as the next week goes on. That's just typical of how the truck has been since I've owned it. This Rokktech gave me no increase in power in my 5.9 but when I pulled it off my mileage dropped one full point. I am hoping to see at least a 1 mpg gain but I will accept more if it's possible.
Anyways, I'll post back in a few days......

It will be interesting to see if the milage goes up..

So far mileage seems about the same or even very slightly lower. Off the line power seems like it may be a little better.. I wish it was just the opposite....:argh:

how does the crank sensor increase fuel consumption when its purpose is to advance the fuel timing, the ol girl ought to drink a little less???

Well, I believe I had a regen right before I made that last post. Mileage dropped about a half point within a one day period of driving around 60 miles. The next day and a half the mileage jumped back up to where it is about a half point better than when I initially started this test. I am waiting until I get through this tank of fuel before I post again but it appears, now, that mileage is up.
Maybe someone can help me here because I'm too lazy to swap the stock sensor back in. I never tried to do it before but with the Rokktech in place I was able to do this with ease.

Can someone try doing a powerbrake and see how easily they can break the tires loose with an auto trans? I also have new 285s on the truck. I'm just wondering if the Rokktech has allowed me to do this......:pca1:

I think it will take a tank or 2 to know for sure if it will hurt your over all mpg.

Mileage has ended up being exactly the same. I possibly got a bit more off the line power but that's it.

you dont have to take it off. just turn it so it back in the stock location.

Dodgezilla 05-23-2008 12:33 PM

I'm leaving it where it is since I feel a bit more power off the line. It's not hurting anything.....
