Buy a rail plug and see if that fixes it cheaper then a relief valve if it dont help when it does start is it a complete dog? No power? When i priced a relief valvr from cummIns they wanted like 4 or 500 so i plugged mine been that way for 4 years

I am very surprised that someone has not come out with a relief valve that has a stiffer spring. Shimming is ok but a exchange for one with a stiffer spring would be nice. From what I read you take a big chance if you plug it. it most cases it is fine but if you get a big spike you may be buying new injectors. I am having problems with mine under heavy load so I bought a shim kit and it should be here monday.

You are asking for trouble with a plugged rail, and yes - there is a company making rebuilt PRV's. It's been a couple years ago I saw that somewhere, sorry can't give any specifics.
