6.7L Exhuast Upgrade

OK, forgive me...I'm new (to this forum and diesel ownership).

I just bought the new 6.7L Powerstroke...and love it!!! :jump: I would like a deeper tone coming from the exhaust, though. One that actually makes this truck sound like a diesel when driving down the road. What do you guys suggest. I've done a ton of searching and I've found Banks, Flo-Pro, Magnaflo, etc, and they all boast performance, but none of them talk about the tone and noise. I want my truck exhaust louder, and I'm looking for ways to do that.

Just to stop you guys before you say it, I'm not looking for straight pipes or stacks. I'm just looking for something that will replace the current system in place. I've heard talk about just getting rid of the muffler. Does that stop me from getting the green light on safety and emissions testing (I live in Utah - and no I'm not Mormon or Polygamist). Any suggestions would be appreciated!

Thanks guys,
Mike

The 11's just sound wierd. I would say get a delete pipe but I dont know as far as sound because i have no experience with the 6.7 but i on the 6.4 it sounds sweet:rocking:! as far as performance and fuel economy you will see an improve. But you need to buy a programer if you do that.
4" DPF/DOC/DEF Delete Pipe - 2011 Ford Powerstroke 6.7
H&S XRT PRO Tuner - Ford 6.7 Powerstroke

Deleting the muffler wont change the sound as the DPF reduces most of the sound. If you delete the DPF you will not pass emissions.

without a tuner the dpf back stuff alot of times causes check eng lights.

Thanks guys. I talked to the guys here in the Salt Lake Valley at Wide Open Performance and they affirmed everything you guys said. I very much appreciate it! :c:

Agreed. The DPF does most of the sound reducing work.

We suggest a XRT Pro or Mini Maxx a Down Pipe and DPF Delete Pipe.

Something to be very careful of is that if you do run a tuner or a programmer there is a high probability that you will lose your warranty on the truck. People will tell you that there programmer cannot be detected but once you take the truck in many times the technicians will check the computer and it isnt to hard for them to tell that you have messed with the computer even if you return it to the factory default settings before you take it in. Just something to keep in mind.
