Need some info just got a leveling kit put on my 2010 3500 and the next day I drove it at bout 70mph i hit a little bump on the road and it started shaking bad been reading up on it and it is doing the same thing as the aka death wobble. was just wanting to know if it might have to do something that was left losse from the leveling kit thank for ur info

 

Death wobble can be a pain in the a$$ to track down start by checking. All tierod ends make sure they have no movement back and forth have someone shake the steering wheel left and right and watch your steering linkage for any movement. If that's all tight check your shocks and shock bushings good luck both times my truck has done this it has been a bad tie rod end

 

Did you do an alignment after the lift?? Possibly missing a wheel weight, good luck death wobbles fun to deal with

 

No need on an alignment with leveling kit on a strait axle. At the most just straitin the steering wheel up using the adjustmebt on your tierod to pitman arm

My truck has death wobble to, I was told bad ball joints, if your ball joints are bad replace with moog brand, they have lifetime warranty. Pain in the butt to change

 

I had the death wobble ! Kinda scary . But mine was the track bar. If so I would have some one to help when putting the new one in. Cause one will have to shake the body so it will fit in. That's just my experience

 

rotate your tires and get it aligned, simple and cheap start and has fixed the cause multiple times for me

 

im saying its a bad tie rod end, trac bar,shock bushings,something small . i dont think its going to be alignment at all. i went from stock height to leveling kit then 4.5'' lift and now a 6'' where i may be happy. my alignment moved none only thing that moved was the steering wheel position. which you dont need an alignment to fix!! you just need to adjust the tierod to pitman arm. which is strictly for steering wheel adjustment. on strait axle trucks by leveling you never change your tow in or tow out or your camber. your caster will change slightly but you cant fix that with out new trailing arms. my truck has 85k on it has had 35x12.50s on it since it was new and just switched to 37x13.50. my ball joints are still tight. only thing i have changed is tie rods and both times i got d/w from tie rods. my buddies 09 got d/w from bad shock bushings and his shocks were new bushings made it a week! just my thoughts on this deal

 

If the wobble comes in after a bump and only above 45 or so you can rule out wheels, tires, tire balance and driveline parts. Most likely cause is a steering dampner or lack of one. At seventy the ball joints will be pinned in place by road friction as will the tie rod ends. An Alignment will never fix a wobble or vibration of any kind on any vehicle, it's all about tire wear. Not to say you shouldn't check your front end componants from time to time but for your discription that's the best thing to look for. Good luck.
