6.7L Cummins DPF question

Hello Diesel Bombers! I have put a down payment on a 2007 Dodge 2500 with a 6.7l turbo diesel in it. This will be my 1st diesel purchase. While driving home from the dealer the check engine light came on with the warning on the overhead computer "Exhaust system filter full regeneration required". The truck is now at a dealership having a forced regen done. After a bit of research the DPF filter seems like a serious problem. Deleting is not an option where I live. Is this likely to be a huge money pit? Advice from any 6.7l owners would be very helpful. Thanks in advance for helping a newb!

Moving this to the correct section... You'll get more responses in the Dodge area...

I feel for you man unfortunately if you don't do allot of highway driving you will continue to have that issue I to own a 07 but I can do deletes ware I live.however if you have basic tools you can do deletes and just put the stuff back on for emissions. Its very easy.

I do a bit of highway driving, about 125 miles weekly. Is this enough for the regen process to work properly? I have just started researching a Smarty Jr. kit so I'm sure I'll have several questions about the Smarty. Thanks for your help.

I've got the smarty jr and couldn't be happier.
