My 2009 is currently my daily. So no issues with bio except it's hard to find at the pump I figured that I would do Turbo back exhaust and just swap every 2 years for smog.

I guess I never really thought about that Okay PC13, to answer your question: YES you can have just about any mod in CA. You just have a little more risk and you'll have to work a little harder for it

Is there anything I can do for better gas mileage? I know I live in commie Ca, but I'm stuck here. Will a programmer help if so how much and will there be much power gain. I saw on u tube an easy tune programmer and u don't leave it in truck. What's the best to help with gas mileage and occasional towing?

with the dpf in place your really not going to improve enough to make it worth imo and a cai i never noticed a difference besides turbo whistle dpf back exhaust a waste of money does nothing at all besides take money out of your pocket and you still have everything restrictive in front of it........and if there is no sniffer just the snap test if thats all it is gut the dpf & cat get the smarty and when you get the snap test done put it on the half power setting no smoke is produced why not??

Like coors man said. Get rid of that DPF and the EGR. CAI & DPF back is a waste of money UNTIL you get the deletes. And then just put it all back to stock every two years for smog test. I'm going to go with a smarty jr. It's one of the cheaper tuners but i haven't heard anything bad about it. It has three different power settings 30hp, 70hp and i think 100hp. Plug it in, tune it up, take it out. Bada bam bada bing

Your best bet is to find a tech with bad eyes and also remove the deletes prior to smog.

My buddy's running a CAI, hollowed out DPF and the H&S minimaxx on his 2011. Says it makes addicting power. Much more than his similar modded DMax made.

had similar issues with the communist state of WA. EPA inspections every two years. Thank GAWD and Greyhoud we moved back to CO. I now get better mileage than a Tacoma, almost as much fun as a Shelby to drive, and I can tow a horse trailer down the road and make the horses whinny with pickled excitement!!! WA and OR legislatures working towards banning personal diesels. but then they don't have me to kick around anymore. Patty Murray asked me to quit sending her letters, I feel special.

I used to live in Lodi,California and I used a friend's address in Amador co. to register my vehicles, they are exempt in the foothills, worst part about that was a 45 min. drive each time I needed to renew registration.
