Delete or not?

Ok so I've read alot about all the deletes. From the sounds of it it is a good thing to do; even if you have some kind of warranty left. But the thing that worries me is I bought a cummins for reliability. And I don't know how reliable the tuner will be? I've read on H&S' website under they forums that some guys have problems. I guess my question is: Have any of you ran into problems with the tuner after the deletes?

08 mega man 06-22-2011 07:10 PM

No sir I've never ran into any problems with my smarty or h&s both have been really reliable to me

coors_man_2005 06-22-2011 07:54 PM

Agreed. No joke here you'll make that money back in fuel milage pretty quickly. That is if you can keep your foot out of it after it's tuned... Haha

fenn 06-23-2011 10:17 PM

I know I could get the money back in fuel mileage. I do have a heavy right foot sometimes:tu:. Wife's main thing is the warranty. But seriously what and how much could go wrong? Diesel Dawg I tries to pm you but I don't have enough posts yet. How much for that XRT Pro? All I would have to do is update it though H&S right?

Well alright. I think I really need to get some deletes for this truck. I'll just "surprise" the wife with a bunch of aftermarket stuff in a really big box!!!!:jump:

harry22 06-25-2011 09:02 AM

I think she'll like the new exhaust note and the way it sets her back in the seat after its all done......just dont let her drive it unsupervised :w2:

coors_man_2005 06-25-2011 01:19 PM

:tu: ya my ollady gripes about all the stuff i have done and then when i turn the programer off she is like this thing is a turd:lol88: im like why do you gripe when i bought everything :humm:

rack1234 06-25-2011 03:37 PM

My cousin and I did the DPF delete on his 08 6.7, with the smarty jr. and he has had no problems at all. We did this in conjunction with a 5" exhaust and it improves his fuel mileage by about 2. So delete delete delete!!!!

fenn 06-26-2011 12:05 AM

I call my wife Jeff Gordon for a reason. Maybe I should call her John Force instead. we just need to have a come to the modified diesel truck talk

baddodges 06-26-2011 07:30 AM

HillbillyMudTurd 06-26-2011 09:43 PM

Can you get fined for deletes on 08+

fenn 06-27-2011 08:06 AM

Only if you get caught!!!:argh:

baddodges 06-27-2011 08:25 AM

If you live in a no emission county like I do you don't have much to worry about.got my whole setup for under 800,00 @ Thoroughbred.

fenn 06-27-2011 10:32 AM

I have the same deal here no emissions. Diesel dawg: I was planning on going with h&s. I like the mini maxx for the shift on fly tuning and the monitoring ability. Plus I wanted to do the intake manifold and boost tube. Trans tune also. I almost bought all of it this morn then the wife walked in and gave the "look". Figured I'd wait.:argh:

baddodges 06-27-2011 09:05 PM

The smarty has power on demand as well.for the cost I couldn't be happier with it.

fenn 06-27-2011 11:07 PM

Oh I havn't looked into the smarty. I guess I'll have to decide which is cooler. Gauges or just the tuner.
