A/C Question

I know it's the wrong time of the year, but since I'm sitting here on my duff, this crossed my mind to ask. 09 Dodge 2500 6.7L- The A/C on this truck SUCKS. It takes FOREVER to cool off in the summer. I would love to know if any of ya'll have the same issues with your A/C. Let's here it and if you know of a fix. Let me know. Thanks in advance. By the way. It's sucked since this truck was new.:humm:

mine gets cold enough but you cant get it set right. its either too hot or too cold. the heater is the same way.

i wrapped my can with insulation tape anlong with the lines seemed to help a bit. you can get a roll at lowes or home depot for around 5 bucks

Put a new accumulator on it and put in an aftermarket orfice tube after you cut out the old one and it only takes like 1.8 LB's of freon

I know this is an old thread, but I'm new to the forum, and read this and thought I'd introduce myself and my $.02.

I had a horrible problem with the a/c in my 07. I bought a recharge kit with a pressure gauge and that helped. It was pretty low. Then I did the a/c performance upgrade from CarboniteCummins.com

On a 98 degree day I measured the air coming out of my vents at 46 degrees! Hope that helps someone.

i can keep my ac and heat adjusted on my 91 better than the 08. both the ac and heat are affected by the speed of the truck. of course i have more fresh air on the 91:jump:

I got an error message after I first got the truck, something like "initiate coolant"? the tech at dealer said it was A/C related but it didn't effect anything. He suggest running the A/C on the high setting without outside air for awhile. I ran it that way for about a week off and on. My A/C will drive out an Eskimo from the cab now? I run it most of the time with recirculation of outside air and it is just fine for me. When my wife wants to REALLY cool off and temps get above the 90 line I run it on the far left two settings showing the air not circulating outside the vehicle and my teeth chatter in a few minutes. That's my story on the 2008 6.7. This was the same time my wiper:s:s went wonky and acted on their own and the radio started cutting out. Still don't know how they got an A/C error code on those two but it works very well now and the wipers haven't had a poltergeist since. The radio is looking for aftermarket if it continues.

A/C Question

here is my $.03 worth, my AC works great even on the hotest days, and heater/def works great no complaints.:pca1:
