By the end of 08 all pump fuel in Canada is ULSD. So really unless you buy industrial, or heating fuel diesel. You can only get the ULSD any way. So not much to worry bout there. The reasoning for having the ULSD diesel is due to the extra particulates in the exhaust. Tends to shorten the lifespan of the DPF, And clog up the EGR valve. For those that remember all the pre ULSD problems with EGR valves. Get rid of that junk and your diesel will go back to being able to run on just about anything again.. LMAO.. Good luck...

If you have your DPF and EGR intact run ULSD.

If you are deleted you have the option of running:

Home made diesel
heating oil (Same thing that comes from gas pumps w/ red dye [same as off road Diesel])
LSD
B100

The thing that makes these trucks so picky about the fuel is the emmisions stuff.

In Alberta, as long as you are buying regular fuel (non farm) Im pretty sure its all ULSD.

There's know difference in the diesel, and actully high sulfur just burns hotter and runs better but like the guy said it's all low sulfur now even red diesel is just dyed
