Lifted truck with a gooseneck
 

I have a 5 inch lift running on 37s and i was thinking about doing away with my 20ft bumper pull and getting a 25 to 30ft gooseneck but i was wondering with the lift and tires can it be done without hitting the bed? any in put would be great thanks

I would think it would be possible I've seen several lifted trucks in this area with goosenecks.

might have to lift the trailer seen that done before too

most goosenecks have an adjustable tube that u can adjust by backing off 2 set bolts....thats how our trailers are...comes in handy when someone has to borrow a trailer and their truck sits lower than mine..mines stock height, but chevy and ford dont set quiet as high in the rear...i marked the tube for my truck height...that way if anybody else uses it an adjusts it, it dont take long to get it set back to my truck...just my $.02 worth

You will either have to flip the trailer axles or put the axle under the springs, either will work.

I think at 5" you might be ok, you'll start running into trouble if you go any higher.

my dads truck was at 4" of lift with 35s. normal flat road is fine but even pulling into some parking lots caused pinch problems

did an axle flip (WARNING: this means flipped them under the springs.) you cannot flip torsioned axles as they are pre loaded. you are just moving them under the springs vice on top of the springs. you have to weld new spring pads on top of the axles and bolt them back in the same way they cam out, just under instead of on top of the springs (springs will sit on axle instead of hanging from it). treat it like a jeep lift where you are going "spring over".

axle flip is very easy to do if you can weld, get some extra hieght outta bigger trailers tires after the flip as well.

if you do don't forget these things

1. check safety chain and trailer pigtail length

2. your first step will be considerably higher

3. lvl jacks may need to have something under them to take up the extra hieght. pop outs with legs that go to the ground vice the side of the trailer.

4. water and sewerline length

5. load stability changes as center of gravity goes higher.

6. may require mud flaps on trailer.

7. oops almost forgot brake lines be prepared to deal with adding somelength here as well

When I had 37s on my truck with my 6 inch BDS lift I towed goose neck trailers all the time.
