I just got done talking to my brother who is a salesman for a local dodge dealer and he was telling me of some feed back he has gotten from some of his customers, I want to see where the rest of you guys are at. He informed me he got MPG feed back from some of the 7-8 diesels he has sold. 3 of the guys are reporting 26-30mpg on the highway and 23-27 hualing all after break-in somewhere after 17k. What are you getting? Is this info real or are these guys just blowing smoke to my bro?

Wow, that sounds like smoke to me. The best I've seen some people report is with the 12V and 5 speeds maybe reaching 24-25 at best. THe newer ones sound like they might struggle to reach 20. I get 20 with mine at interstate speed. Let's see if others can chime in with some magic numbers??

30 MPG (US Gallon) is pretty tough to get to. Not impossilbe, but not a daily driver or hauler that is for sure. A new truck is even more BS as their power is much higher and as such they burn more go juice.

I have never broke 30 imperial miles per gallon on my truck but I have seen it as low as 9.3L /100 KM which is just 30.3 but it didn't last long and I think the computer was goofed to be honest. My current set up give me 9.7L/100 km and I'm cool with that.

BSMine is brand new money 2300 mi. I'm only seeing around 10.5 to 12.5. I know will get better over time with some tweaking and also when the newness wears off. Anywhere close to 30 my big ass would do backflips. I really don't think backflips are in my future anytime soon though

Allright, thanks guys for the input. I also figured these guys were full of it but I wanted to see if anyone was close or even thought it was possible.

Well always someone guy who just "HAS" to get the best miles per gallon on the planet, and the truth be damned. This seems to apply equaly amongst all brands chevy, Ford and Dodge. My new 2007.5, 6.7 cummins is my 5th diesel Dodge, all have been 4 wheel drive and all have had 6 speed manuel trannys, all were 3500 DRW. I did have a 2001 that got great milage for what it was. At one time I got 17 mpg with that truck empty, and could count on 14 mpg loaded. That is great milage for a 1 ton DRW truck. Before Dodge I had mostly Chevy DRW with Big Blocks if ( and thats a real big IF) you could get 9 or 10 with those gassers you were laughing all the way to the bank.

My new Dodge right out of the Box got 15.6, using a calculator and not that laughable on board display thing. This new truck -- three weeks old, now has a little over 6,000 miles thanks to a trip across the country I just got back from. My milage right now is right at 16 mpg or maybe a little over not much but a little. I expect this truck to get a little better milage with miles but if I am lucky real lucky I may see a 10% increase after about 30,000 miles or so. That has beeen the case with all of the rest. That would make my milage around 17.5 or so. If I get that good I will be so damn happy.

But 30mpg with a Cummins Dodge man that would be a sight to see, not just hard to believe but real hard to imagine, must less believe.

Before I bought my truck, I heard a lot of those 25+ mpg claims, and didn't come even close when I got mine. Was pretty annoyed. However, after finding out that my speedo was off, and getting it calibrated, the mileage numbers are decent. With the stuff shown on my sig., I'm looking at regular 19-20 mpg if I keep it under 70 mph, and if I keep it between 55-60 (where required), I do see 22 - 24.

That is hand computed between fill-ups. Running light truck, and being VERY easy on the "go-pedal."

Like the guys up top said, with a newer truck making that much more hp...... I can't see how they would get 30 out of it. Down-hill with a tail-wind maybe?

That's exactly what I see as well. Nothing wrong with those numbers, very happy with it:)
