CEL Question

When starting my pickup after it has set a few days, I turn the key to the on postion and wait for the grid heater, throttle sensor, and other lites to clear, when they have cleared my CEL light will flash about 8 times, then it stays on steady untill engine is started. After starting all lights are gone, and pickup seems to run fine. Is the Flashing CEL light some type of code? Is this something I need to have looked at ? Or nothing to worry about. My dealer is 150 miles from where I live, And I don't belive anything they tell me. So I thought I'd bounce it of you guys first before making a trip to the dealer. Thanks

i would call it normal. The CEL will stay on if there is a problem. The ECM is doing checks of systems before starting.

post up a bigger pic of that excavator! LOL

I can't remember where I found the picture. I'm guessing the center pin broke. Bet it was fun gettin it back down to level on the undercarrage. :humm:
